Start with one workflow

The usual entry is a focused Operations Diagnostic on one workflow, most often bid preparation or the estimating-to-field handoff: one to two weeks, fixed fee, ending in a findings map, the economic impact of each finding, and a 90-day plan. From there, Fix Sprints implement the highest-priority changes, one at a time, each with a baseline and the agreed measurement. What a bid-preparation engagement actually looks like

First, one bid followed end to end

BMG picks a live bid, or a recently submitted one with the people who worked it still available, and follows it from the invitation through takeoff, subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, pricing, internal review, and submission. Each step gets an owner, an elapsed time, and a system of record. Every point where information is re-keyed, where an estimator waits on someone else, or where a number is rebuilt rather than retrieved is written down as it is found.

Then a findings map with dollars attached

The output is not a list of complaints. Each finding carries the hours it consumes, how often it recurs, and what that time costs at the estimating rates the business actually pays. Findings that cost little get named and set aside on purpose. That is what allows a 90-day plan to be sequenced by economic impact rather than by whoever raised the issue most recently.

Then Fix Sprints, one change at a time

A Fix Sprint takes the highest-priority finding and implements it, with the baseline recorded before the change and the agreed measurement taken after. On bid preparation the usual measures are hours per bid, bids submitted per estimator per month, rework after submission, and the share of pricing pulled from history instead of rebuilt from scratch. One change, measured, then the next.

Who owns it when the engagement ends

The point of the sequence is that the operation runs without BMG. Each implemented change is handed over with the workflow documented, a named internal owner, and the measure that tells that owner whether it is still working.
